Fox Buys Drama From Peter Ocko & Steve McPherson, Comedy From Andrew Gurland & Justin Hurwitz
has put in development,Ball & Chain, a drama written/executive produced by Peter Ocko (Fairly Legal) and executive produced by Steve McPherson through Lionsgate TV. The project, which falls under McPherson’s first-look deals at Fox and Lionsgate, centers on two ex-operatives with screwed up personal lives who are set up by their intelligence agency to become romantically entangled and run missions as a team.

ABC Buys Comedy From Kelly Ripa & Mark Consuelos, Andrew Leeds & David Lampson
Producing duo Kelly Ripa and husband Mark Consuelos have teamed with writing duo Andrew Leeds and David Lampson for a half-hour comedy project with a female protagonist.Poor Pam, which has been set up at ABC through ABC Studios, centers on Poor Pam, that friend everyone feels bad for. Single, unemployed, almost broke, living in the shadow of her famous sister — everyone has it better than Pam. But that doesn’t get her down. Poor Pam always looks on the bright side of life, and she’s always ready to go another round, no matter how many times she gets dropped on her ass. Leeds and Lampson will write the script and executive produce with Ripa and Consuelos.

Fox Orders Fatrick From Nat Faxon, Jim Rash, Don’t Trust the B—- Creator
beefed up its pilot offerings Wednesday when it ordered Fatrick, a half-hour comedy. The potential series follows Patrick, a 30-something moving man and former fat kid, as he’s forced to face the damage caused during his overweight childhood. The project will take place in both the past and the present. Apartment23‘sNahnatchka Kahn and Corey Nickerson will pen the script; Nat Faxon (Ben and Kate) and Jim Rash(Community) will direct. 20th Century Fox TV will produce.

Fox Developing Buddy Comedy From Conan O’Brien
is developing “I Knew You When,” a buddy comedy from Conan O’Brien. From O’Brien’s shingle Conaco in association with Warner Bros. TV, the halfhour multi-cam is about the bumpy road to success, told from the dual perspectives of two old men who have achieved fame and fortune. Jeff Addiss and Will Matthews are on board “I Knew You When” as scribes and co-exec producers.

TBS Orders Pilot for Police Comedy from Steve Carell, Nancy Carell
has ordered a pilot for “Tribeca,” a satirical police comedy from Steve and Nancy Carell. Hailing from Carell’s shingle Carousel Television, “Tribeca” offers a satirical look at a police procedural. Anchored by Angie Tribeca, a 10-year vet of LAPD’s elite RHCU (Really Heinous Crimes Unit), the single-cam comedy explores and eccentric but brilliant group of people who investigate crime, reveal way too much personal information, and refuse to refuse to rest until justice has been served…sort of. Husband-wife duo Steve and Nancy Carell serve as scribes and exec producers on the project. Steve Carell will helm the pilot.

Hope Davis, Justin Kirk Board Fox’s ‘Wayward Pines’
Fox’s Wayward Pines is adding two recurring players to its ranks. Hope Davis and Justin Kirk have boarded the Fox event series from Chad Hodge and M. Night Shyamalan. The 10-episode drama is based on the best-selling novel of the same name by Blake Crouch and is described as a thriller in the vein of Twin Peaks. Davis will play Megan Fisher, a teacher at Wayward Pines Academy, while Kirk will portray Peter McCall, an unassuming Realtor in Wayward Pines.

‘Shake It Up’ Star Zendaya to Topline Disney Channel Spy Pilot
Disney Channel is staying in business with Shake It Up star Zendaya. The kids cable network has greenlighted half-hour comedy pilot Super Awesome Katy, which the 17-year-old starlet will topline. Super Awesome Katy centers on 16-year-old Katy Cooper (Zendaya), an outspoken and confident technology wiz and skilled black belt, who discovers that both her parents are spies with aspirations that she will follow in their footsteps. The project marks a reunion between Zendaya and Shake It Up executive producer Rob Lotterstein, who will also be an EP on Super Awesome Katy.

Dwayne Johnson Attached to Star in MGM’s ‘Seal Team 666’
Dwayne Johnson is attached to star in MGM’s action project Seal Team 666. Johnson will also executive produce the feature along with Dany Garcia, as well as Brendan Deneen and Peter Joseph of Macmillan Films. Based on the book by Weston Ochse, the project follows an elite group of Navy Seals who battle demons and assorted threats and discover that there’s a greater supernatural force bent on destroying the world.
Evan Spiliotopoulos wrote the screenplay for the adaptation.
