Ben Affleck-Matt Damon Comedy Gets Pilot Order at CBS
has ordered to pilot More Time With Family, a multicamera comedy from 20th Century Fox Television and marks CBS’ seventh comedy pilot — centers on a husband and father (Tom Papa) who is making a career change to spend more time with his family. Ben Affleck and Matt Damon will executive produce through their Pearl Street Films, with Dave Becky and Josh Lieberman of 3 Arts also executive producing. Josh Goldsmith and Cathy Yuspa will write and serve as EPs.


Amazon Eyes Comedy Pilot From Whit Stillman, Drama From Shaun Cassidy

continues to firm up its next batch of pilot orders. I hear the company is zeroing in on comedy Cosmopolitan from The Last Days Of Disco filmmaker Whit Stillman and drama Hysteria from Invasion creator Shaun Cassidy. Cosmopolitan, which Stillman wrote and will direct and executive produce, chronicles the loves and adventures of a group of young ex-patriates in Paris. Hysteria, produced by Alcon Entertainment, centers on a doctor who travels to her hometown of Houston to investigate an epidemic among high school girls that may be spreading through technology.

‘Supernatural’ Spinoff, Rob Thomas’ ‘iZombie,’ ‘Flash’ Ordered to Pilot at CW
CW has picked up to pilot Rob Thomas’ DC Comics adaptation iZombie, the rumored Supernatural spinoff and made official its pilot order for fellow DC entry Flash. Supernatural: Tribes will explore the clashing hunter and monster cultures of Chicago and hails from writer Supernatural’s Andrew Dabb, who will exec produce alongside Eric Kripke, Robert Singer, showrunner Jeremy Carver and McG. Singer will direct the Warner Bros. Television entry.

iZombie is described as a supernatural crime procedural that centers on a medical student-turned-zombie who takes a job in the Coroner’s Office in order to gain access to the brains she must reluctantly eat so that she can maintain her humanity. However, with every brain she eats, she inherits the corpse’s memories. With the help of her medical examiner boss and a police detective, she solves homicide cases in order to quiet the disturbing voices in her head. Thomas and Diane Ruggiero will pen the script and executive produce the Warner Bros. Television and Rob Thomas Productions’ entry alongside frequent collaborators Danielle Stokdyk and Dan Etheridge.

The network confirmed its pilot order for Arrow spinoff The Flash, which was formerly intended to be a planted episode but will now be filmed as a stand-alone. Grant Gustin stars as scientist Barry Allen and is given the power of super-speed that transforms him into the Fastest Man Alive. Arrow’s Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg and DC’s Geoff Johns will pen the script and executive produce alongside David Nutter, who will direct the pilot. Berlanti Productions’ Melissa Kellner Berman will co-EP.

CW Orders Terrorism Drama From Kurtzman/Orci, ‘Jane the Virgin’
centers on a young woman in need of a transplant who learns she is related to a powerful family whose son is her only hope for a donor organ. The CIA approaches her to investigate the family’s involvement in domestic terrorism and to infiltrate their rarified world. Her loyalty, morality and ethics are tested as she’s forced to slowly build a case against the family who saved her life. Corinne Brinkerhoff will pen the script and exec produce alongside Kurtzman, Orci and their K/O Paper Products president Heather Kadin. Scripted World’s Rob Golenberg and Alon Aranya will also executive produce the drama from CBS Television Studios, K/O and Scripted World.

Jane the Virgin hails from Jennie Snyder Urman, who will pen the script for the project, which centers on a hard-working, religious, young Latina woman who is accidentally artificially inseminated following a series of surprising and unforeseen events. Urman will executive produce the CBS Television Studios entry alongside Electus’ Ben Silverman, Gary Pearl and Jorge Granier.

‘Modern Family’ Exec Producer Danny Zuker Inks New Overall With 20th TV

Fox Renews ‘Bones’ for Season 10, Moves Drama Back to Mondays
Though there is no immediate word on whether it will be a final season for the veteran procedural, Fox chief Kevin Reilly said that was the most likely scenario earlier in January.

Felicity Jones in Negotiations to Star in ‘Rosaline,’ a Revisionist Take on ‘Romeo & Juliet’

has entered negotiations to star in “Rosaline” for Universal Pictures. A revisionist, comedic take on William Shakespeare’s classic “Romeo & Juliet” as told from Rosaline’s point of view, the project is based on Rebecca Serle’s 2012 novel “When You Were Mine.” Established theater director Alex Timbers will direct “Rosaline,” which will be a period film set, though it will feature contemporary language. The current draft of the screenplay was written by Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber. Shawn Levy will produce and Billy Rosenberg will executive produce, while Dan Cohen will co-produce.
