Fox Picks Up Biblical Thriller Script ‘The Unseen’
Fox has bought biblical thriller script The Unseen, written by John Travis, with Hutch Parker attached to produce. The script is based on the short story Mr. Pettinger’s Daemon, which appeared in John Connolly’s collection of short fiction stories Nocturnes. The plot centers on a hospital cleric who is tasked with treating a fellow clergyman in a remote parish who has been displaying severe signs of mental illness. When he arrives, he discovers that the root of his colleague’s erratic behavior is a biblical force of evil that is trying to surface from deep below the church.
Disney Reviving ‘Chip ‘n Dale’ for a Live-Action Feature
Chip ‘n’ Dale, Disney’s classic cartoon chipmunk duo, is being revived with the goal of becoming a big-screen feature. The studio has picked up a pitch from Robert Rugan, an award-winning commercials director, who is writing an updated take on the characters in what is being envisioned as a live-action/CG hybrid. Mandeville Films/TV, the Disney-based production shingle run by David Hoberman and Todd Lieberman that is also behind the studio’s Muppets franchise, is producing.
