Twentieth Century Fox TV Ups Carreras, Summers To VP, Hires Glamour Editor Weinberg As VP Talent Relations

has promoted Jennifer Carreras to VP Comedy Development and Mandy Summers to VP Current Programming. Additionally, former Glamour editor Jen Weinberg has joined the studio as VP Talent Relations and Events.

Deadline: ABC Hopes For Ratings ‘Resurrection’ With New Drama Amid Freshman Show Struggles
It all comes down to this Sunday and new drama Resurrection, which couldn’t have been titled more appropriately given the turnaround hopes ABC has riding on it. As it did with S.H.I.E.L.D. in the fall, ABC put almost all of its midseason eggs in the Resurrection basket, giving the new series a huge marketing push, including provocative billboards and a special promo during the Oscar telecast last Sunday. There are encouraging early signs, with the show getting better reviews than most other new ABC dramas this season.


‘Rake’s Bojana Novakovic Poised To Topline ABC Drama Pilot ‘Agatha’
Rake co-star Bojana Novakovic is finalizing a deal for the title role in ABC’s drama pilot Agatha, from ABC Studios and Mark Gordon Co. The casting is in second position to Fox’s midseason series Rake, which has done poorly on Thursdays and is being moved to Fridays starting next week en route to likely cancellation.

Felicity Huffman To Star In John Ridley’s ABC Pilot ‘American Crime’
Felicity Huffman
is back at ABC with a lead role in another hourlong project, pilot American Crime. Huffman has closed a deal to play the female lead opposite Timothy Hutton in the drama, written and exec produced by 12 Years A Slave‘s John Ridley.

Rebecca Romijn Boards NBC’s Rob Lowe Comedy
She’ll play a love interest for the "Parks and Recreation" alum in the comedy set at a tennis and golf club.

Paul F. Tompkins to Star in ABC’s Brian Gallivan Family Comedy
The comedian will topline the half-hour single-camera project co-starring Molly Shannon.

Mexican Star Jaime Camil Joins CW Pilot ‘Jane the Virgin’
Mexican actor-singer-heartthrob Jaime Camil is making his US pilot debut with a co-starring role opposite Gina Rodriguez in the CW‘s drama Jane The Virgin.

Chris Conroy Joins ABC’s ‘The Club’; Jeff Roos & Jayson Blair In ABC’s Kevin Hart

has booked a series regular role on ABC’s The Club (fka untitled Susannah Grant) from CBS TV Studios and ABC Studios. Conroy will play rich and handsome Forty Holbrooke, who was doing OK until his mother killed herself, leaving him everything.

Jeff Rossand Jayson Blair has signed on to ABC‘s multi-camera untitled Kevin Hart comedy pilot. Blair will play Lorraine’s new boyfriend Chip. Ross plays Stu, Derek’s dorky and annoying but genuinely insightful and observant best friend.

Dave Annable Joins Fox’s ‘Red Band Society’; Aaron Ashmore In ABC’s ‘Agatha’

(Brothers & Sisters, 666 Park Avenue) has nabbed a series regular role in Fox’s Red Band Society. Annable will play Dr. William McAndrew, a rock star pediatric oncologist and surgeon who tries not to get too attached to his young patients. Aaron Ashmore has booked the male lead in ABC’s drama pilot Agatha from ABC Studios and Mark Gordon Co. Ashmore will play Jimmy McAuliffe, a handsome, good-humored and good-natured “meat and potatoes” guy who is a beat cop with the Philly PD and lives in the shadow of his father.

Joanna Going Joins DirecTV’s ‘Navy St’; Angelique Cabral Boards NBC’s ‘Two To Go’

(House Of Cards) has been tapped for a series regular role in DirecTV’s gritty drama series Navy St. Angelique Cabral (Enlisted, Apt. 23) has signed on for a lead role in NBC’s comedy pilot Two To Go. Cabral’s casting is in second position to her current role of Jill Perez on Fox’s Enlisted.


Mark Duplass’ New Web Series ‘Wedlock’ Seeks to Redefine Indie TV
A prolific writer/director/actor/producer, Mark Duplass is bringing two projects to SXSW this year: the horror-comedy film “Creep,” and the web series “Wedlock.” The attempt to find buyers for an already-completed web series is a very unusual and novel concept. “Wedlock” features Duplass and Jennifer Lafleur as a pair of type-A best friends who are constantly being told that they should be in a relationship. Now that they’re getting older, and not finding romance elsewhere, they decide to give it a shot — by coming up with an entire, semi-insane game plan for falling in love, which they hope a therapist, played by Rob Corddry, can help them implement.
