HBO Orders Martin Scorsese-Mick Jagger-Terence Winter Rock Drama to Series
HBO has picked up to series the Boardwalk Empire duo’s rock ‘n’ roll drama that’s also exec produced by Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger and Breaking Bad’s George Mastras. The 1970s drama — which remains untitled — explores the drug- and sex-fueled music business as punk and disco were breaking out, all through the eyes of a record executive trying to resurrect his label and find the next new sound.
David Caspe and Gil Ozeri Are Developing a Ponzi Scheme Fox Comedy
David Caspe has teamed up with Gil Ozeri to produce a single-cam comedy for Fox called Frauds, which will follow "a family of two-bit criminals who decides to pull off an elaborate Ponzi scheme." Ozeri will write and serve as co-executive producer with Caspe and Jamie Tarses.

‘Source Code’ Sequel in the Works
“Source Code 2″ is ramping up development, with Anna Foerster signed on to direct the follow-up to the science fiction thriller, sources confirm. The Mark Gordon Company and Vendome Pictures are returning to produce, with Vendome again financing the project. “Source Code” screenwriter Ben Ripley is back to write the script for the new installment.
Will Smith, Tom Hardy, Jared Leto Commit To ‘Suicide Squad’ Lineup
Warner Bros has confirmed Will Smith, Tom Hardy and Margot Robbie for its DC Comics villain team Suicide Squad, and has set Jared Leto to play The Joker, Jai Courtney to play Boomerang and Cara Delevingne to play Enchantress in the David Ayer-directed film.

The group revealed its picks for 2014’s best on Tuesday. Michael Keaton and Oscar Isaac tied for the NBR award for best actor. Jessica Chastain also won the NBR’s best supporting actress prize for her role as the tough wife of Isaac’s straightforward businessman.

HBO is finally releasing The Wire in HD this month
HBO’s critically acclaimed masterpiece The Wirewill finally be available in 16:9 HD starting later this month. Starting on December 26th, all 60 episodes will be available for streaming on HBO Go. Cable fans will also be able to marathon the series starting that day on HBO Signature, running all the way through to December 30th. The whole remaster will be made available on Digital HD — meaning iTunes, Google Play, Xbox Video, and Vudu — on January 5th.
(gaming) Steam takes on Twitch with new broadcasting feature
Valve is moving into video game streaming with a new broadcasting feature for Steam. Launching in beta today, the feature will let Steam users watch other people play games without leaving the service. It sounds like it’s primarily designed so you can watch your friends — Valve advertises it as a way to "watch friends play, with the click of a button" — but there’s also a public option that lets anyone view a game stream, which puts the service in direct competition with Twitch.
