PILOT NEWS:

Office Comedy Starring Kevin Connolly, College Comedy From Weezer Frontman & ‘Psych’ Creator Get Fox Pilot Orders
Two high-profile Fox comedy projects have received pilot orders: Fantasy Life, starring Kevin Connolly, and DeTour, from Steve Franks and Weezer frontman Rivers Cuomo. Both come from Fox sibling 20th Century Fox TV and had put pilot commitments. The multi-camera/hybrid Fantasy Life was written by Tim McAuliffe based on Fantasy Life: The Outrageous, Uplifting, And Heartbreaking World Of Fantasy Sports From The Guy Who’s Lived It, the memoir by one of ESPN’s Matthew Berry. When a hard-working guy lands his ultimate dream job hosting a fantasy football show, he’s forced to navigate office politics while becoming the star he never thought he could be.

Single-camera DeTour was inspired by Cuomo’s real-life experiences. Written by Franks, it centers on a rock star who made the unexpected choice at age 30 to quit his band and go back to college.

(review) HuffPo: ‘Fortitude’: Stanley Tucci Excels In A Tale Of Icebound Crime
It’s easy to give you an idea of what "Fortitude" is like and whether you might like it, because it’s not hard to find good shows that are pretty similar to the new Pivot drama. It sits squarely at the center of a satisfying subgenre that has bubbled up in the last few years and is centered on visually ambitious dramas that skirt or avoid most conventional rules about how crime and punishment are handled on TV. Procedurals these are not.
