USA Network Developing ‘Apex’ Conspiracy Thriller Drama From Alcon TV

USAhas put in development Apex, an hourlong drama from Alcon Television Group. Penned by husband-and-wife writing duo Adam Alleca and Ashley Christine Beyer, Apex centers on a female assassin who saves the life of a teenage outcast and the two form an unlikely bond.

Brett Mahoney Inks CBS Studios Deal, Joins ‘Code Black’ As Executive Producer

The Following executive producer Brett Mahoneyhas closed an overall deal with CBS TV Studios. Under the two-year pact, Mahoney is joining new CBS medical drama Code Black, from ABC Studios and CBS Studios, as executive producer alongside creator/showrunner Michael Seitzman. Mahoney also will develop new projects for the studio.

Michael Offer Inks Deal With ABC Studios

Michael Offer has signed an exclusive blind pilot-directing deal with ABC Studios, which also includes a development component.

‘iZombie’ Co-Creator Rob Thomas Signs Overall Deal With Warner Bros Television

Rob Thomashas signed a multi-year overall deal with Warner Bros Television, the company announced. Under his new deal at WBTV, Thomas’ production company Spondoolie Productions will develop projects created by Thomas and he will also supervise other writers and creators.

‘Empire,’ ‘Transparent’ Lead 2015 TCA Awards Nominations

New series “Empire,” “Transparent” and “Better Call Saul” are among the nominees for this year’s Television Critics Association Awards. The winners will be announced at a ceremony August 8 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel as a part of the TCA’s summer press tour, which runs July 28 through August 13.
