HBO is developing a new hourlong Wild West set drama from multi-hyphenate Peter Berg. Titled Untamed, the project follows three mismatched travelers as they set out on a treacherous trek from 1840s Wyoming across the Rocky Mountains to Utah. Berg will direct the drama, with Mark L. Smith on board to pen the script.
Buckhead is described as a drama about ambition, sex and revenge set in the extravagant, high-stakes world of Atlanta politics, entertainment, churches and strip clubs. Packer will executive produce via his overall deal with Universal Television. David McMillian will pen the script and exec produce.
The single-camera entry is inspired by the lives of the couple’s friends Hugh Davidson, Larry Dorf and Rachel Ramras who watched as their friends from The Groundlings went on to star in blockbuster comedies and win Oscars while they tiled away writing for children’s television.

Songwriter Bret McKenzie and author Michael Chabon are joining Disney’s musical comedy “Bob the Musical.” The project, in which a man suffers a head injury and can subsequently hear everyone’s inner song, is being produced by Chris Bender, JC Spink, Beau Flynn, Tripp Vinson and Jennifer Gibgot.
Sunday’s premiere of I Am Cait delivered solid ratings for E!, although the numbers are a big drop from Caitlyn Jenner’s other major high-profile TV appearances. The docuseries drew an average of 2.73 million viewers in live-plus-same-day ratings, according to Nielsen. That includes 1.5 million viewers in the 18-49 demographic.
