‘Cruel Intentions’ Follow-Up TV Series In Works At NBC With Film’s Team & Musical Parody Duo

NBC has given a script plus penalty commitment toCruel Intentions, a drama series, which tells the story of Bash Casey, the son of the characters played in the film by Phillippe and Witherspoon. The project comes from the film’s writer-director Roger Kumble and producer Neal H. Moritz as well as Lindsey Rosin and Jordan Ross.

Gabriel Iglesias Lands Put Pilot Deal at ABCComedian Gabriel Iglesias has reached a put pilot deal with ABC to write and star in a multi-camera comedy series. ABC Studios will produce. The pilot is inspired by Iglesias’ life experience, including the challenges of managing a home life during the few days he spends off the road each week. It has a working title of “The Fluffy Shop.”

Eva Longoria Producing ‘Casino’ Drama For NBC From ‘East Los High’ CreatorEva Longoria’s company UnbeliEVAble Entertainment has sold another project, drama Casino, to NBC. Written by East Los High creator Carlos Portugal, Casino centers on the aftermath of a mogul’s mysterious death when his ambitious young widow and his illegitimate son have to join forces to save his famed casino, while circumstances surrounding his death come to light and threaten to take them both down.

‘Think Like A Man’ TV Series In Works At Fox From Steve Harvey, Will Packer & Tim Story
is developing Think Like A Man, a single-camera comedy executive produced by comedian Steve Harvey, on whose best-selling advice book the movies were based, and by the films’ producer Will Packer. Keith Merryman and David A. Newman, who wrote the 2012 movie and the 2014 sequel Think Like A Man Too, will pen the TV adaptation.

Comedy Central Picks Up ‘Detroiters’ From Jason Sudeikis & Broadway Video To SeriesComedy Centralhas given a series order to Detroiters, its Motor City comedy pilot executive produced by Lorne Michaels’ Broadway Video and Saturday Night Live alum Jason Sudeikiswho will have a recurring role on the 10-episode series. Detroiters stars Tim Robinsonand Sam Richardson as two small-time Detroit ad men who aspire to help turn their hometown back into the glittering jewel of the Midwest that it once was.

Lee Daniels’ Fox Pilot ‘Star’ Sets Filming Start Date, Casting Search For 4 Leads, Including Transgender ActressStar, the new music-themed drama pilot from Lee Daniels, will film off-cycle, with production slated to begin in December in Atlanta. The pilot, from 20th Century Fox Television was greenlighted by the network in August. Written, directed and executive-produced by Daniels and co-written/executive produced by Tom Donaghy, Star is set in Atlanta and centers on three girls — one White, one Black and one half White/Half Black — who are coming together to form a band and their rise to the top.

Ken Jeong’s ‘Dr. Ken’ Gets Full-Season Pickup at ABC
has ordered the back-nine episodes for “Dr. Ken,” giving Ken Jeong’s Friday night comedy a full-season pickup for its freshman run. “Dr. Ken” marks the first new comedy to land a full-season order this fall.
