NBC Buys Brothers Comedy ‘Relative Success’ Produced By Krysten RitterNBChas put in development Relative Success, a single-camera comedy from comedian Max Silvestri, which is executive produced by Krysten Ritter. Universal TV is the studio. Written by Silvestri, Relative Success is about what happens when two overachieving brothers — one a successful book editor, the other a well-known author – are forced to work together to keep their careers on track.

Fox to Explore Hip-Hop Culture With Comedy ‘White Jeff’
is teaming with comedy vet David Bickel for comedy White Jeff. The multicamera comedy, which earned a script commitment at the network, centers on a button-down CPA who becomes the only white person working at a hip-hop clothing company founded by an eccentric rapper. Bickel will pen the script and executive produce the 20th Century Fox Television comedy.

Fox Orders Phil Lord-Chris Miller Hybrid Comedy ‘Son of Zorn’ to Series
announced that it has ordered the duo’s live-action/animated hybrid comedy Son of Zorn to series. The comedy centers on animated warrior Zorn (voiced by Jason Sudeikis) who, upon arriving home on Earth for the first time in 10 years, finds that reconnecting with his live-action son, Alan (Johnny Pemberton), and ex-wife, Edie (Cheryl Hines), while suffering through a mundane office job and the banality of suburban life is harder than waging war in his distant mystical homeland of Zephyria.

CBS Developing Brothers Comedy From Judah MillerCBShas put in development a multi-camera comedy from writer-producer Judah Miller. The untitled project revolves around two very different brothers who merge their medical practices and have to learn how to get along under one roof. Miller will write the script and will executive produce with 3 Arts’ Jonathan Berry and Tom Lassally. Warner Bros. TV is the studio.

Laura Dern To Produce Saleswoman HBO Drama From Annie MumoloIn Laura Dern’s latest collaboration with HBO, the star will executive produce a drama project fromAnnie Mumolo. The untitled project, now in development, takes on the story of a pioneering American saleswoman largely responsible for the development of the home party system of marketing.

Angela Kinsey To Write & Possibly Star In Call Center Comedy For TBSAngela Kinseyhas sold semi-autobiographical comedy1-800to TBS. Kinsey will write 1-800, loosely based on her experiences working at a call center when she was starting out, with an eye toward co-starring as well.

OWN Developing Mini-Series About the 1921 Tulsa Race Riots Starring Octavia Spencer
Octavia Spencer will star in a two-night event mini-series, "Tulsa" (working title), which is currently in development at the OWN network. "Tulsa" will tell the story of the largest race riot in U.S. history in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The mini-series will center on Mattie Clay (Spencer), a journalist from Tulsa, who moved to Chicago with the hopes of getting off the society pages and away from racism.
