ABC Buys ‘Work Married’ Comedy From ‘Wet Hot American Summer’ Co-CreatorABChas put in development Work Married, a multi-camera comedy from Wet Hot American Summer co-creator/star Michael Showalter and Warner Bros TV. Written/executive produced by Showalter and his writing partner, Christina Lee, Work Married chronicles the lives of unconventional Vermont state senator Michael Sherman and his type-A overachieving chief of staff Christina Kim, which are turned upside down when they realize their work marriage is the only relationship they’ve got left.

FX Buys Restaurant Comedy ‘Starters’ Produced By Ed HelmsFXhas put in development Starters, a half-hour comedy from writer Dan Kennedy, and Ed Helms’ Pacific Electric Picture Co. Will Grahamis attached to direct and showrun. Starters is described as a dark comedy set in America’s true underbelly of chemical addiction and appetizers: corporate theme restaurant chains.

‘Jon Benjamin’s 100 Erotic Nights’ Scripted Comedy In The Works At IFCIFChas ordered a pilot presentation for scripted comedy Jon Benjamin’s 100 Erotic Nightsfrom H. Jon Benjamin and Leo Allen. Created and written by Benjamin and Allen, Benjamin stars in and narrates the comedic and wild anthology series of 100 very personal, lurid tales of secret passion, burning desire and ruthless betrayal.

Bong Joon-ho Feature ‘Snowpiercer’ To Be Adapted As TV Series

Tomorrow Studios has optioned the rights to develop Bong Joon-ho’s 2013 Korean feature Snowpierceras a TV series. Josh Friedman is attached to write the adaptation, set in a postapocalyptic ice age where the only remaining life on the planet survives aboard a train that travels around the globe.

Spike Scraps Jerry Bruckheimer Drama Series ‘Harvest’The Viacom-owned cable network has reversed course on its Jerry Bruckheimer drama Harvest, opting to cancel the series after problems casting the lead. Insiders say that Spike extended unrealistic offers to high-profile actors — all of whom turned the lead role down — as the cabler also sought a top-name showrunner to oversee the drama.


Zoe Kazan To Star In Lena Dunham HBO Comedy Pilot ‘Max’ In Recasting

Daniel Zovatto has signed on to the USA Network pilot Brooklyn Animal Control, based on the IDW Publishing comic created by JT Petty.


‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Producers Mark Gordon And Shonda Rhimes Team On ‘My Husband’s Ex-Wife’ FilmAfter teaming on the hit series Grey’s Anatomy, the Mark Gordon Co’s Mark Gordon and Shondaland’s Shonda Rhimesand Betsy Beers are in talks to produce My Husband’s Ex-Wife. This would be Rhimes’ first feature as a producer, and it is a script by Michelle Lirtzman, who has been a writer on Grey’s Anatomy and Scandal. The Mark Gordon Company will finance the movie, a comedy about a young woman who is married to an older man and is newly pregnant.

Condé Nast Names ABC Exec Jonathan Koa As SVP Scripted ProgrammingFormer ABC comedy exec Jonathan Koahas joined Condé Nast Entertainment as senior vice president, scripted programming. He begins his new job on November 16. In his new role, Koa will be responsible for developing and producing scripted television projects for CNÉ.
