ABC Buys Comedy From Kelly Ripa & Mark Consuelos, Andrew LeedsABChas put in development a multi-camera comedy from Kelly Ripaand Mark Consuelos’ Milojo Prods and Andrew Leeds. Written by Leeds, the untitled project centers on husband and wife Marty and Florie, who are trying to fend off the gentrification of their neighborhood in Brooklyn. When each of their three daughters announce they are romantically involved with the very people who irritate Marty and Florie so much, they are forced to finally let these people into their lives.

Courteney Cox to Star in Fox Comedy
Courteney Cox
is developing a starring vehicle for Fox. The untitled single-camera project — which is in development — centers on Hailey (Cox), a woman who inherits her late billionaire husband’s charity and finds that changing the world is far less glamorous than she had imagined. The comedy hails from ABC Studios and will be written by Robert Padnick, with James Griffiths on board to executive produce and direct the potential pilot.

Jim Carrey Comedy ‘I’m Dying Up Here’ Ordered to Series at ShowtimeThe hourlong project stars Melissa Leo and Ari Graynor and is set in the world of stand-up comedy.

Televisa USA Tackles Aztec Family Saga with ‘Luck of Huemac’

has recruited showrunner Michael Chernuchin to develop an English-language drama series based on the novel “The Luck of Huemac,” about the end of the Aztec civilization. The project aims to depict the Spanish invasion in the pre-Columbian era from the perspective of an Aztec family.

UK talent preps Instagram dramaA UK director has created a crime drama specifically for social media platform Instragram and will debut the shortform series next month. Shield5 (28×15’) was created and directed by Anthony Wilcox alongside Adam Dewar and will debut on the photo- and video-blogging app on February 1 at 17.00 GMT. Set in London, each 15-second episode follows a security driver on the run after he is arrested for his involvement in a diamond heist and the subsequent death of a colleague.
