is set to develop and star in a half-hour comedy pilot written by Jordan Peele and Eastbound & Down’s John Carcieri. The project centers on a career criminal who is released from prison after 15 years, hoping to reintegrate into a society that long ago left him behind.

Netflix Plotting ‘Punisher’ Spinoff Starring Jon Bernthal
may be expanding its relationship with Marvel. The streaming service is eyeing a potential stand-alone series called The Punisher, a Daredevil spinoff. The potential spinoff — which is in very early development — would star Jon Bernthal.

Former ‘Broadchurch,’ ‘Humans’ Exec Producer Launches Production Banner
Jane Featherstone’s
new banner Sister Pictures will produce a new drama series based in the world of divorce lawyers, The Split, from Abi Morgan.

Isaac Bashevis Singer Novel ‘Shadows on the Hudson’ to Be Adapted for TV

in-house film and TV unit has teamed with Wildhorse Studios to develop the Isaac Bashevis Singer novel Shadows on the Hudson for TV. The story about prosperous Jewish exiles in New York City during the late 1940s will be adapted for network TV and begin production later this year.

is shopping a pot comedy. Co-written by Lorre and David Javerbaum, the spec script has been sent out to broadcast networks and is set at a legal marijuana dispensary in Colorado. The ensemble revolves around a group of potheads. The untitled pot comedy, a multicamera entry, hails from Warner Bros. Television.

(from Fri) Fox Greenlights ‘Prison Break’ Event Series, Orders ’24’ Spinoff Pilot ‘Legacy’
Prison Break
stars Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell are both signed on to reprise the roles of brothers Michael Scofield and Lincoln Burrows. The original producing team of creator Paul T. Scheuring, Neal Moritz, Marty Adelstein and Dawn Olmstead are all aboard for the event series, and Scheuring will again write and showrun.

The new incarnation of 24, dubbed 24: Legacy, will not feature any returning cast. The network is looking to make the reboot diverse, with its lead character said to be an African-American guy in his 20s. Howard Gordon, Manny Coto and Evan Katz are all back on board as executive producers. Stephen Hopkins is also on board to helm the pilot.

‘Jessica Jones’ Renewed for Second Season at NetflixThe Marvel drama premiered in November to rave reviews.

‘Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt’ Renewed for Third SeasonThe comedy returns for its second season in April.

(rumor) Deadline: Pilot Season 2016: How Many Pilots Is Each Network Ordering?While the nets are busy selecting the bulk of their 2016 pilot orders, here is what I hear about the number of pilots each net is looking to pick up: ABC is aiming to pick up 1-2 pilots less than last year both on the comedy and drama side, staying in the 10-11 range, but the number could creep up to 2015 levels.

The eight-part drama follows Victoria from when she first becomes Queen in 1837 at the age of 18 through her eventual marriage to Prince Albert (Tom Hughes).
