(from Fri) Freeform Developing ‘Sleeping Beauty’ Followup Drama ‘After’ From Tom LynchFreeformhas put in development Sleeping Beauty-themed hourlong scripted drama After(working title), based on Rhiannon Thomas’ 2015 debut novel A Wicked Thing, from veteran youth programming writer-producer Tom Lynch. After re-imagines Sleeping Beauty and what happens after happily ever. In it, Princess Aurora wakes up to the kiss of a handsome prince one hundred years after falling asleep to find her family long dead and her kingdom taken from her. She must transform into a warrior to regain it. Lynch is co-writing with Adam Lash and Cori Uchida, and executive producing with Robin Schwartz for the Tom Lynch Co. and Brillstein Entertainment Partners.

Netflix is nearing a deal to order an ensemble comedy series from Nick Stoller and Francesca Delbanco. The husband-and-wife team created the series and will serve as writers and exec producers on the untitled single-cam comedy, which sources say will land an eight-episode straight-to-series order. The show is about a close-knit group of college friends who are all approaching forty. Two of them have been hooking up on-and-off for two decades and are now married to other people. The series is described as an exploration of what happens to the group’s marriages and friendships when one couple moves.
