Frank Spotnitz Exits As Showrunner of Amazon’s ‘Man in the High Castle’
Frank Spotnitz has departed as the showrunner of the Amazon drama, “The Man in the High Castle.” The series, which is based on Philip K. Dick’s novel, is currently in production in its second season in Vancouver. A source disputes reports that Spotnitz’s exit was due to the producer being hands-off, instead pointing to creative differences with the studio, but confirms that production has been halted.

Indiewire: More Women and Minorities Are Being Hired As TV Directors — Report
The Directors Guild of America disclosed in a new report that more female and minority helmers were hired during the 2015-16 TV season, making this a "slight" improvement in the right direction. According to the report, ethnic minorities directed 18.5% of episodes – up from 17.7% in the 2014-15 season, with females directing 17.1% of episodes – up from 15.8% in the 2014-15 season.
