YouTube Unveils Slate of 8 Original Series, Including ‘Step Up’ Adaptation
YouTube content chief Susanne Daniels announced a slate of eight new and returning original series for its subscription service at VidCon on, including the online adaptation of dance movie Step Up. Step Up, which is being executive produced by Channing Tatum, Jenna Dewan Tatum, Adam Shankman, Jennifer Gigot and Meredith Milton, will debut in early 2017. It is the first project that YouTube Red has greenlit that doesn’t have obvious ties to a YouTube star or series. But Daniels says that she expects online stars to be cast in the show, which will focus on dancers enrolled in a contemporary performing arts school.

Tucker Tooley Sets TV Series Adaptation Of Neil Strauss’ Book ‘Emergency’
Former Relativity Studios president Tucker Tooleyis expanding into television at his monied shingle Tooley Productions. The indie production company has optioned Neil Strauss’ non-fiction book Emergency: This Book Will Save Your Lifeto develop it as a drama television series with comedic bent. In Emergency, best-selling journalist and author Strauss, concerned about the state of the world, moved his family offshore and remade himself as a survivalist. Search is underway for writer to pen the adaptation.

USA Network Ups ‘Mr. Robot’ Season 2 Order, Orders Live Aftershow
The sophomore season of the critical darling has been expanded from 10 to 12 episodes, which will all be directed by creator Sam Esmail.

Hulu Renews Dramedy ‘Casual’ for a Third Season

The series breaks singles’ boundaries by having them go beyond their comfort zones and kiss a total stranger, without introduction, to find out if one kiss can lead to everlasting love.

ITV subscription drama channel ITV Encore has ordered a two-hour crime drama about a string of gruesome murders of un-convicted paedophiles. Dark Heart, from ITV Studios, is written by Chris Lang and based on the novel Suffer the Children by Adam Creed.
