NBC Nabs Sisters Comedy From Tina Fey, Robert Carlock & Luke Del Tredici As Put Pilot
Tina Fey has sold single-camera comedyThe Sackett Sisters to NBC through her Little Stranger banner. Penned by Luke Del Tredici, The Sackett Sisters is about two estranged sisters who perform a Sully Sullenberger-esque act of public heroism, then are forced to navigate their new found notoriety together.

Baseball Comedy From ‘Mindy Project’ Duo Set at NBC
NBC has handed out a hefty put-pilot commitment to All Stars. The comedy will be written by the Mindy Project duo of Jack Burditt and Charlie Grandy and hails from Universal Television. The comedy centers on a collection of very different families who are bound together by their children’s 10-and-under all-star baseball team.

John Singleton Sets ‘Straight Outta Heaven’ Guardian Angel Drama at CW
John Singleton has set a drama project at the CW and Warner Bros. TV that mixes faith-based storytelling with hip-hop. “Straight Outta Heaven” revolves around a hip-hop star who dies but comes back to life as a guardian angel. Singleton and his producing partner Dallas Jackson are co-writing the script.

CW Developing Period Drama Based on Black PI Who Inspired Philip Marlowe Character
‘Marlowe’ will be set in 1937 but feature social issues ripped from today’s headlines.

‘American Gigolo’ Adaptation Set at ShowtimeThe premium cable network will team with Paramount to develop a reboot of the 1980 feature, with Neil LaBute set to pen the script.

YouTube is launching its first original animated series, the adult comedy “Paranormal Action Squad” featuring three top YouTube gaming creators which will be available exclusively on the YouTube Red subscription service starting Nov. 16. The show is helmed by Michael Rowe. The eight-episode comedy follows two paranormal enthusiasts, Paul and Eddie, who along with their squad-mates and their enthusiastic, owl-headed neighbor Vanoss, have made it their mission in life to uncover the mysteries of the ghostly universe.
