Jenny Bicks Joins ‘Divorce’ As New Showrunner Under Overall Deal With HBO
Former Sex and the City executive producer Jenny Bicks is returning to HBO and reuniting with Sarah Jessica Parker. Under the pact, she has joined the network’s dark comedy series Divorce as executive producer and showrunner for the upcoming second season. She replaces Paul Simms, who is exiting over creative differences.

LAT: CBS serves up ‘comfort food’ on Friday nights and it’s paying off
CBS has succeeded by scheduling escapist, broad-appeal fare that does not require a weekly commitment to follow the plot. These dramas offer up plenty of action with crime-fighting heroes who aren’t conflicted. “It’s not ‘House of Cards’ or ‘Westworld’ and I think that’s a good thing,” said Kelly Kahl, senior vice president, CBS primetime. “People get home at the end of the week and they want to put their feet up and be entertained. Our lineup is really good at that.”

DTVE: Vizio pays US$2.2m to settle TV data collection complaint
The complaint stated that, starting in 2014, Vizio smart TVs that capture “second-by-second information” about video displayed on the TV – including over-the-air broadcasts, DVDs and content delivered over cable, broadband, set-top box and streaming devices. …Vizio sold this information to third parties, who used it for various purposes, including targeting advertising to consumers across devices, according to the complaint.
