‘Hanna’ TV Remake in the Works From ‘Night Manager’ Writer

is once again looking to its film library for its next potential series. A TV adaptation of the 2011 Saoirse Ronan film Hanna is in the works from The Night Manager writer David Farr. Farr will executive produce with Tomorrow Studios’ Marty Adelstein and Becky Clements. In addition to Hanna, the studio is also developing an adaptation of the book and Oscar-winning Meryl Streep-Robert Redford film Out of Africa from Harry Potter producer David Heyman and Night Manager director Susanne Bier.

Ovation TV
is developing Hot Art, an hourlong scripted drama series based on the book by Canadian journalist Joshua Knelman, Hot Art: Chasing Thieves and Detectives Through the Secret World of Stolen Art. UK-based writer Simeon Thornton will pen the adaptation and Storyscape Entertainment’s Bob Cooper will produce. This marks Ovation TV’s first scripted series. Hot Art is described as a drama series that offers a fresh, contemporary take on the world of art crime.

Taran Killam-Fronted Comedy Mating Not Moving Forward at Showtime
Taran Killam‘s
relationship comedy Mating won’t be going the distance at Showtime. The cabler has opted not to move forward with the Jason Katims-produced project, which found the Saturday Night Live alum playing a young divorcé who found himself completely unprepared for the brave new, frank and fluid world of dating and hooking up.

Zach Galifianakis’ ‘Baskets’ Renewed for Season 3 at FXThe Emmy-winning comedy will return in 2018.

“Trial & Error”
is a comedy of errors, conducted by very silly people in a small town that is enough removed from the real world that the stakes of this murder seem very low, indeed. Like Pawnee, East Peck is the world writ small, with its one racist evil millionaire, one long-suffering judge, one nosy sheriff. It makes for a nice escape, especially in the hands of comedians who know how to make television comedy into an oasis from the real world.
