(Free Fire, Jungle Book) and Benedict Wong (Doctor Strange, The Martian) have been set to star in the second installment of Philip K. Dick’s Electric Dreams, a 10-episode anthology series from Ronald D. Moore, Michael Dinner, Bryan Cranston and Sony Pictures TV.


Dwayne Johnson’s ‘Jungle Cruise’ Is a Go at Disney

has closed a deal to star in Jungle Cruise, Disney’s live-action adaptation of its iconic theme park ride. Johnson will also produce the adventure project with Dany Garcia, the co-CEO of the duo’s Seven Bucks Entertainment. Beau Flynn, Johnson’s frequent collaborator who has worked with the actor on movies such as San Andreas, is also in negotiations to produce via his Flynn Picture Co. shingle. John Davis and John Fox of Davis Entertainment are also producing.

Fox Buys Untitled Spec For Melissa Stack Directing DebutFox closed a mid-six-figure deal for an untitled spec script that will mark the directing debut of Melissa Stack. Karen Rosenfelt is producing the new comedy, which Stack wrote based loosely on her own experience. It’s an R-rated comedy in which an older woman goes on vacation with her much-younger boyfriend’s family.

Variety: WGA Warns Time Warner, AT&T Shareholders of Strike’s Potential to Impact Merger Stepping up its pressure campaign against the major studios, the Writers Guild of America has sent letters to prominent institutional shareholders of Time Warner and AT&T warning them of the impact a strike could have on Time Warner earnings and the pending $85.4 billion merger of the media giants. The shareholders letter follows similar warnings sent earlier this week to top media buyers alerting them to the possibility of a strike.
