DEAL!! WGA Details Gains After Post-Deadline Accord Averts StrikeAfter a day of twists and turns, Hollywood has dodged a bullet. A threatened writers strike was averted early this morning when the WGA and management’s AMPTP reached a tentative agreement on a new three-year film and TV contract after the old contract had expired at midnight PT. The deal now goes to the WGA West’s board and the WGA East’s council for approval, and then to the guilds’ members for ratification.

‘Chicago P.D.’ Showrunner Moves to ABC Studios With Rich Overall Deal
Matt Olmstead
is moving from Chicago to ABC Studios. In a competitive situation with offers from all the major studios, Olmstead has signed a two-year overall deal with ABC Studios. Under the pact, which sources say is in the eight-figure range, Olmstead will create and produce new projects for the Disney-owned studio.

Akiva Goldsman Inks First-Look Deal With Imagine TelevisionOscar-winning writer Akiva Goldsman is extending his feature relationship with Imagine to television, signing a two-year non-exclusive first-look deal for scripted TV. In addition to the first-look arrangement, Goldsman, via his Weed Road Pictures banner, will serve as non-writing consultant and will supervise select Imagine Television projects.
