‘Misfits’ Reboot From ‘iZombie’ Exec Producer Scores Pilot Order at Freeform
has given a pilot order to a remake of the British sci-fi series. Misfits centers on a group of young offenders in a community service program who develop supernatural powers after being hit by a mysterious electrical storm. Diane Ruggiero-Wright wrote the adaptation and will serve as showrunner, executive producing with Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage. Victoria Mahoney will direct the pilot. The project, first put into development in April 2016 at the cabler, hails from ABC Signature Studios.

first offering, “Planet of the Apps,” feels like something that was developed at a cocktail party, and not given much more rigorous thought or attention after the pitcher of mojitos was drained. It’s not terrible, but essentially, it’s a bland, tepid, barely competent knock-off of “Shark Tank.” Apple made its name on game-changing innovations, but this show is decidedly not one of them.

THR: ESPN Study: Political Polarization Not Affecting Viewer Behavior

The network noted that the proportion of viewers who detected bias was unchanged since its last survey in October 2016, right before the presidential election.
