Bruce Lee Passion Drama ‘Warrior’ From Justin Lin Gets Cinemax Series PickupTwo years after being put in development, Cinemax is moving forward with a drama based on an idea from the late Bruce Lee. Warrior, a passion project from Justin Lin and Jonathan Tropper, has been picked up to series with a 10-episode order. Warrior is described as a gritty, action-packed crime drama set during the brutal Tong Wars of San Francisco’s Chinatown in the second half of the 19th century.

Skydance Inks Film, TV Deal With ‘Wakefield’ Duo

and Julie Lynn’s Mockingbird Pictures has signed a multiyear overall deal with the independent production company. Under the pact, the pair will develop film and television projects for Skydance. The deal expands their relationship with the studio, where they are currently teaming with Marti Noxon to adapt Dietland for television.

Fox Cancels ’24: Legacy,’ Will Explore Future Versions of Franchise
has canceled “24: Legacy,” the spinoff of the long-running espionage-action drama. The network and studio 20th Century Fox Television are exploring future iterations of “24,” possibly as an anthology built around the real-time storytelling format of the original series.

‘Queer Eye’ Creator Inks Exclusive Deal With ITV America
ITV America
is staying in business with Queer Eye for the Straight Guy creators Scout Productions. The production houses announced an exclusive pod deal, a few months after they teamed up for a new version of Queer Eye at Netflix. Scout’s David Collins and Michael Williams will work to create new series, across genres, under the ITV America banner. The upcoming reboot of Queer Eye is one of the first big reality swings for Netflix, which is moving aggressively into the unscripted space in 2017.

(sched) The Bachelorette Will Be Preempted by the NBA FinalsEven if the Golden State Warriors sweep the Cleveland Cavaliers in the NBA Finals, The Bachelorette will take the night off on Monday, June 12 to accommodate the potential Game 5. If Kevin Durant and the Warriors finish off LeBron James and the Cavs in Game 4 Friday night, ABC will air a re-run of The Bachelorette instead of a new episode at 8/7c, followed by a re-run of Still Star-Crossed at 10/9c. has ordered a limited drama series based on the Danish literary classic Pelle the Conqueror, the work by writer Martin Andersen Nexo that was the basis of Bille August’s Oscar-winning film of the same name. Screenwriter Rasmus Heisterberg will be head writer on the Pele the Conqueror series, which will be based on volumes 2-4 of Nexo’s magnum opus.
